Gutters

Keep the flow of water away from your home.

The upkeep of your gutter system is an important part of maintaining your home and making sure water flow goes away from your house. Designing a flow of water through guttering can help you protect your foundation and the exterior of your house.

Additionally, clearing out built-up debris in your gutters allows a more productive water flow. Clogged gutters often lead to leakage, flooding, and even mold issues.

Gutters are constantly exposed to the elements and over time will experience normal wear and tear. As homes age, replacing the gutter system may become necessary. Modern gutter materials are highly durable and last longer.

We employ a team of professionals who will help you choose a gutter system that will improve the flow of water away from your home and enhance your curbside appeal.

  • Seamless aluminum gutters are the most popular, most durable over time and will not wear down easily from the flow of rain or debris from your roof. Aluminum gutters are rust-proof, lightweight, and easy to install. Our gutters come in a variety of factory finished colors that complement your existing shingles or soffit and fascia trim.

  • Older, outdated gutter systems were installed with gutter spikes that are nailed through the front of the gutter into the fascia behind the gutter trough. The drawback with gutters installed with gutter spikes is that they can never be adjusted or re-sloped if necessary and do not give a ‘finished’ look.

Our guttering is installed with hidden hangers that are fastened with screws. This gives the gutter trough a more pleasant finished look. It also allows for adjustment during the installation to ensure proper drainage.

  • Careful consideration to roof runoff area, roof steepness, number of downspouts, and length of trough should be taken into account when selecting gutter size. For many residential homes, 5 inch gutters are a sufficient option when designed with the proper number of downspouts (especially oversized downspouts). 5 inch gutters are the most commonly installed size.

  • Homes with heavier and wider fascia can benefit from the aesthetic look of a larger 6 inch gutter system. Much like a wider crown molding on an interior ceiling, the profile of a 6 inch “K style” gutter can enhance the exterior look of the home. Additionally, 6 inch gutters can be used to relieve extra heavy run-off in certain areas where roof slopes are particularly large and steep.

  • Many “builder grade” gutter installations use the smaller 2”X3” downspouts. We use oversized 3”x4” downspouts on both our 5 and 6 inch gutter systems. This allows for the quickest draining of water from the gutter troughs and helps flush debris through elbows and connections.
