Northwest Arkansas Storm Restoration Process

Take a minute to read our restoration process below and how we can help you work with your insurance company.

  • You should know for insurance claims that you can and should use any contractor that you know, like, and trust. A quality restoration contractor should equip you with the information you need to make the best decision on filing a claim for storm damage. Before you file a claim with your insurance, our first step is to conduct a damage assessment to evaluate the damage to your entire property. If, and only if we find legitimate evidence of storm damage, we can walk you through the documentation that you can present to your insurance for a valid claim.

  • If we find legitimate damage, we will help you document this with a report so you can properly present this to your insurance company for review if necessary. We will use weather reports, pictures, and video to document any storm damage evidence.

You will then call your insurance to file a claim and schedule a claims adjuster meeting to go over your roof damage.

  • Once the claim has been filed, your insurance company will send an adjuster to validate the damage to your property. Although insurance will be on your side, they often move quickly and may miss claim-worthy damages.

We can share our pre-inspection findings and appropriate repair solutions so you receive full consideration for all damaged items and receive proper repairs.

  • If and when repairs are approved by your insurance company, we can review the scope of repairs with you and ensure all repairs will be done to manufacturer and building code requirements, and in a way that restores your home to the way it was before.

  • After confirming the approved scope of work, you can then make your material and color selection, and then we get to work. Our roof and gutter crews will work tirelessly to get your home back to a safe place that is protected from the weather.

A Word About Deductibles

You may have heard from a neighbor, a friend, or even another contractor that you could get your deductible “waived”.  In short, we could do that too, but that would mean committing insurance fraud, and we wouldn't ask our customers to participate in that. We like you, but we don’t want to be your cellmates.

Here’s the long explanation:

Insurance estimates and approves repairs to your home at $20,000

You have a deductible of $1,000

This means that your insurance will pay out a total of $19,000 on a $20,000 estimate because you are expected to pay the $1,000 deductible portion.

(It's like your co-pay at the doctor’s office. You pay that, they pay the rest. It’s what you agreed to in your policy.)

However, the insurance doesn’t pay their whole portion up front in the first check, they pay a depreciated amount of their total (Example $9,500). Once the work is complete, and they receive the final invoice, they then release the amount that they depreciated (the other $9,500 of their total) to you.

IF, however, you tried to do the work cheaper than your insurance  estimated (BTW, they aren’t in business to pay MORE than they need to, they only estimate with middle of the market pricing), they then simply release a lower amount on the final check. Say you found a contractor that used cheaper material and did the work for $19,000. When you present your insurance company with the final bill for $19,000 (your cost incurred), they would then subtract their first payment of $9,500, your deductible of $1,000 and then pay the balance of $8,500. You didn’t save yourself any money by doing it cheaper, you saved the insurance company on their final check!

The way around that is to find a contractor who will write an invoice for the FULL $20,000, getting your insurance to pay out $19,00, but then only charge you what the insurance released.

That’s lying.

If that’s what you’re looking for, we’re probably not going to be a good fit for you.

If a contractor is willing to lie to your insurance company, where are they lying to you?
